I purchased a brand new home on acreage with a well, heavy sand, sediment and minerals in my area is expected during the break in period for the water system. This spin down sediment filter is installed on the waterline just before our 3 stage filtration system. It is amazing how much sand and sediment it captures, extending the life of the cartridges. I highly recommend using this product.

This filter works, but probably too fine of screen, 40 to 80, 80 better on filter screen size.Just a note. If the screen fails, will replace with 80.

Filters well, actually too well for my irrigation water. I have to purge these every day and I need to take the filter out and clean it with a soft brush at least once a week. Being clear plastic the filter will get lots of algae unless you protect it from the sunlight. I'm going to buy some relacement filters that are not so tight woven.

This works really well at removing sand from our well water. I wish we had put one in years ago! We installed it ourselves and it was an easy job if you know basic plumbing.

The sediment filter instructions suggest that the unit needs to be backwashed so adding a bypass line allows that to be accommodated.

Doesn’t leak which is great but seems like it is not very effective. I know I have a lot of sediment in my water after my well because I replaced my old filter for this.

It is nice and also we can see thru. Only problem when dumping out to clean it be sure to turn off the water main. Else water would be everywhere

This sand separator has saved me so much headache! Our tank bladder was failing so we were getting a bunch of sand throughout the house and pipes were clogging. Once we installed the sand separator we could remedy this problem with the twist of a handle. Even now that the bladder is fixed we are still catching sand that would have gotten in the house and put more wear and tear on the pipes. Great product!

Our subdivision pumps water from a nearby natural stream for the entire neighborhood's irrigation systems. I was having much trouble with occasional clogging of my micro sprinklers. The water often contains algae and silt and sludge. Now that I'd installed this filter, all I need to do is to back flush the filter once a week instead of having to clean out each of my irrigation timer stations, saving hours of time and effort!

Can already see a few flecks of sediment caught up in the mesh after being installed for a little over a week, so it looks like it's doing its job. Fairly easy to install. As a side bonus, it provides a nice way to drain down the entire plumbing system when needed.
