Fleck 2510 Greensand Filter - Removes Iron & Sulfur
DESCRIPTION
The Fleck 2510 Greensand Iron Filters with auto backwash control valve, is a premium iron filter that effectively removes high levels of iron, sulfur, and manganese that are frequently found dissolved in water. These dissolved metals (iron and manganese) stains appliances, laundry, plumbing, etc. by oxidizing (rusting).
System Includes:
- Fleck 2510 Auto Backwash Valve: Fiber-reinforced polymer valve body (tough, non-corrosive, and UV-resistant)
- Filter tank (available in 3 sizes and 3 colors): Chlorine can be fed via the iron filter to increase overall performance.
- Stainless steel bypass valve ( 3/4" or 1")
- Potassium Permanganate (feeder) tank with safety float, brine well and felt pad
- GreenSand media with assistance gravel (depends upon selected size)
- Media funnel for easy installation.

Minimum Water Flow Rate Required:
The size of an iron filter or pH neutralizer system is dependent on the flow rate from your well pump.
Please check your flow rate to select the properly sized system.
Do not select a system that requires a higher flow rate.

- Shut-off all faucets and make sure there is no running water.
- Place a 5 gallon bucket by a hose bib (spigot) near your well pump.
- Fully open the water hose bib until the well pump starts.
- Then, start filling up your 5 gallon bucket, and time how many seconds it takes to fill it up.
- Use the chart the following chart to get your flow rate.

Excessive iron issues in your water is typically characterized by the ugly red or brown colored staining in your plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets and laundry.
With well water, iron typically occurs in a ferrous state. That means, the flowing water typically looks clear.
However, once the water is exposed to the air, the iron transforms into a ferric/ oxidized state. The clear water will turn red or brown and insoluble “rust” type material will form.
Iron staining can be easily caused by as low as only 0.3 milligrams per liter (mg/L).
Depending on the iron content concentration, we have several solutions to this ugly and aggravating water problem.
A quality iron filter will filter out this excessive iron content.
