The City of Kirkland is a member of the Chute Water Alliance (Cascade) along with Bellevue, Issaquah, Redmond, Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District, Skyway Water and Sewer District, and Tukwila. Cascade provides the members with a secure, clean and reliable drinking water in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible way. Cascade was formed it happened in 1999 to provide you with water today… and tomorrow. Each member includes a voice in deciding its own community’s long term by ensuring the availability of water. City of Kirkland Councilmembers Penny Fairly sweet and Jon Pascal represent Kirkland around the Cascade board. While an organization, Cascade likewise works closely using water providers inside the Central Puget Sensible region ensuring every single drop of available drinking water is used BEFORE an additional source is created.
