The Texas City Museum is supported by the City of Texas City. Situated at 409 sixth Street North in Texas City, the Museum obtained its present structure in March 1992. The 30,000-square-foot building, previously known as the old J.C. Penney building, was given by the McDaniel group of La Marque. Since its opening in March 1994, visitors from around the United States and abroad have visited the Museum. The Texas City Museum encourages the adventurer in everyone to encounter the past, experience the present, and discover what's to come. It is a spot where the two emotions and insight are tested. The Galveston County Model Railroad Club Exhibit is also open every Saturday on the second floor of the museum..
