This is your annual drinking water quality report for your period of January one through December thirty-one, 2016. Each year the actual Village issues this particular report to provide you advice about the quality of our moving water, the source of our drinking water, how it is handled, and the regulated substances it contains. These reviews are issued within compliance with the A safe drinking water supply Act. For more comprehensive information about our water's quality, including examination results for not regulated compounds, contact Melissa Olenick at CLCJAWA at 847-295- 7788, Brett Fritzler in 847-599-6800, visit our web page at www.gurnee.il.us or visit the CLCJAWA website at www.clcjawa.com. Este informe incluye informaci?n muy notorio sobre el agua esta usted bebe. Tradúzcalo ? hable con un profecional que lo entienda bien. Our drinking water is pumped through Lake Michigan as well as treated at CLCJAWA’s Paul M. Neal Water Treatment Facility within the Village of River Bluff. The enhanced drinking water purification process utilized by CLCJAWA is unique. Very first, the water is given ozone to eliminate organisms and tenderize contaminants. Ozone is produced on-site through the air, bubbled into the water, and then transformed back into oxygen. Water is then mixed with a coagulant to remove sediment along with other material from the drinking water. Once clarified, water is further processed as it passes via filters containing triggered carbon and crushed stone. Turbidity is a way of measuring water clarity. Therapy facilities monitor turbidity because it is a good indication of water high quality and the effectiveness of the filtration and disinfection systems. At CLCJAWA, turbidity is examined every ten secs in numerous locations through automatic monitoring gear and twice each day, by hand, in the lab (see results on-page 2). Next, water is treated with ultraviolet light to inactivate any remaining microorganisms. Finally, the filtered water is given chlorine to protect this it travels with the water main, fluoride-based for dental health, along with a small amount of a frequently used food additive called phosphate. Phosphate protects water from the metals, for example, lead and copper mineral, found in our homes’ plumbing systems. CLCJAWA is a 10-time Quality in Water Therapy award winning facility. CLCJAWA was the third service in the nation to do this distinction presented through the Partnership for Secure Water. This non-reflex water quality system, sponsored in part through the United States Environmental Protection Agency, retains its awardees to raised standards than needed by current moving water regulations..
