Highline Water District

Found in 2017, approximately 73 percent of Highline Water District’s drinking water came from Seattle General public Utilities (SPU) Planks River Watershed. The rest of the supply came from the next four groundwater water wells owned and managed by Highline Drinking water District: • Dieses Moines Well (S02) • Tyee Good (S04) • Position Lake Well (S03) • McMicken Very well (S10) Water coming from these wells is usually directed to one of 3 treatment plants exactly where it is filtered, cured and tested prior to it is blended with water from SPU. How Are These Resources Protected? To preserve the quality of water that originates in the Planks River Watershed, simply no recreational, agricultural and industrial activities will be permitted in the region. According to the Washington Condition Department of Wellness (DOH), all surface area water has been ranked highly susceptible, yet vulnerability for the Cedar River Watershed is low because of the protection afforded simply by Seattle Public Resources (SPU’s) Comprehensive Watershed Protection Plan. At the same time, Highline Water District’s groundwater sources are protected by natural “confining layers” of fabric above the aquifer. The protection afforded towards the raw water top quality by both the “restricted use” and “confining layers” is the main reason the DOH classified these drinking water sources as having “low vulnerability” to contamination. The drinking water is examined frequently both simply by Highline Water Area and Seattle General public Utilities to ensure that top quality water is delivered straight to your home. Last year your water was tested for more than 200 compounds and extra contaminates. Tests are executed before and after treatment even though your water with the distribution system. Planks River Watershed Three Tables presented with this report list all the contaminants detected inside the most recent required drinking water testing and evaluate them to the limits and goals set by EPA and the Condition of Washington to make sure your tap water is secure.
