Our History Our water originates from the Florida Aquifer and it originates from the zone known to be the most flawless for water quality. The main network water supply in the Hudson zone was introduced in 1923. It comprised of a hand siphon well and 15 feet of pipe found east US Highway 19 off Hudson Area. The water was conveyed by pony and wagon to all who requested water at a cost of a quarter a barrel. In 1956 Hudson built up its first water system which was begun by 56 residents of Hudson. The system comprised of a four-inch well siphoning 60 gallons for each moment, a 1,000-gallon weight tank, and conveyance lines. The exertion was pushed ahead by the Hudson Community Club. In January of 1972, Hudson Water Works was framed and in January of 1974 Hudson Water Works bought the Mountain Water Works. Hudson Water Works, Inc. is a non-profit utility with a seven (7) part Board of Directors that is chosen in multi year interims. They are an immediate line of correspondence for our individuals to the utilities. Their errand likewise includes supervising the uses and the eventual fate of Hudson Water Works. Our individuals are the proprietors of the service organization. There is an utility chief that is in finished charge of the everyday activities and answers to the Board of Directors. Since 1956 Hudson Water Works has developed and improved the whole system since the first 56 clients to the 7,318 clients we serve today. Our water system is comprised of A/C pipe, PVC pipe, and stirred pipe extending from 12? inch to 1/2? inch pipe. Our system is roughly 3 square miles..
