The purpose of this statement is to inform you of the standard of water and solutions we deliver for you every day. The City's goal is to supply you with a safe and reliable supply of drinking water. The town wants you to be familiar with efforts made to continuously improve the water treatment process and safeguard our water assets. Ogden City is usually committed to ensuring the standard of your water. EXACTLY WHERE DOES MY DRINKING WATER COME FROM? Ogden Town Public Utilities clients are fortunate to get water from 3 main sources: groundwater from wells, surface area water drawn from Pineview Reservoir and Wheeler Creek, and cured water purchased coming from Weber Basin Drinking water Conservancy District (WBWCD). WBWCD's water is a combination of treated floor and surface oceans from wells possessed by WBWCD and from waters attracted by WBWCD from your Weber River. WATER SOURCE PROTECTION PROGRAMS Ogden City General public Utilities has finished Drinking Water Source Safety Plans for all of the surface water resources. Drinking-Water Source Safety Plans include recognition of the areas that the drinking water resources receive water, tests of the potential contaminants threats to the places within these areas, and management applications to help control the two existing and potential sources of contaminants. Copies of these programs can be obtained from the General public Utility office for any nominal fee. The state of the Hawaii Division of Drinking Water also offers a copy of the document. Descriptions of the significant potential sources of contaminants located within the part of the Utility’s surface drinking water sources are the following. • Transportation of Hazardous Materials Along Roadways - Incidents along highways and also other major roads can result in spills of dangerous materials and result in contamination. • Commercial, Commercial, Automotive, Sea, and Equipment Repair - Products and components are used and kept in various quantities in these companies including stomach acids, solvents, oils, gas, diesel fuel, and also other chemicals. Spills of those products and materials can result in contamination. • Countryside Residential Areas -- Household septic devices that are failing consist of bacteria and virus-like pathogens that are dismissed directly into the ground and could eventually enter the surface area water source.
