Municipalities throughout Ontario have been required to adhere to Ontario Regulation 170/03 made under the A safe drinking water supply Act (SDWA) seeing that June 2003. The Act was passed following recommendations created by Commissioner O'Conner following the Walkerton Inquiry. The Act's purpose is always to protect human wellness through the control and regulation of drinking water devices. O. Reg. 170/03 regulates drinking water screening, use of licensed labs, treatment requirements and reporting requirements. Section 11 of Rules 170/03 requires the proprietor to produce an Annual Statement. This report needs to include the following: 1 ) Description of program & chemical(s) utilized 2. Summary of any adverse drinking water quality reports and corrective actions a few. Summary of all needed testing 4. Explanation of any main expenses incurred to set up, repair or change equipment This total annual report must be finished by February 29th of each year. Section 22 of the rules also require an Overview Report which should be presented & approved by Council simply by March 31st of every year for the preceding calendar year.
