To ensure that plain tap water is safe to drink, the use Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prescribes rules that limit the number of certain contaminants in water provided by general public water systems. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION regulations establish limitations for contaminants in bottled water, which provides similar protection for public well-being. All drinking water, which includes bottled water, may fairly be expected to consist of at least a small amount of some pollutants.
