Tate Monroe Drinking water Association’s (TMWA) water is received from your Ohio River Area Aquifer. Eleven (11) vertical wells and one (1) enthusiast well are located over the Ohio River in Clermontville and close to Moscow. The aquifer that supplies water to the TMWA includes a high susceptibility to contamination, due to the character of the aquifer where the drinking water wells can be found and the existing probable contaminant sources recognized. This does not mean that this kind of good field will end up contaminated; only that conditions are in a way that the groundwater could be impacted by potential poison sources. Future contaminants may be avoided simply by implementing protective steps. Please appropriately dispose of dangerous chemicals. Protecting the drinking water source may be the responsibility of all-region residents. By coming together we can ensure a sufficient safe supply intended for future generations. TMWA also has an emergency reference to Clermont County Drinking water which is only utilized to supplement the supply if needed for drought circumstances or when parts of the system are becoming repaired. Substances found in Source Water The sources of drinking water (both tap water and bottled water) include streams, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and water wells. As water moves over the surface from the land or throughout the ground, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and, in some cases, radioactive materials, and can pick up chemicals resulting from the presence of pets or liveliness. To be able to ensure that tap water is secure to drink, USEPA prescribes which limits the quantity of certain contaminants in water provided by general public water systems.
