The Total annual Water Quality Statement, also known as the Consumer Self-confidence Report, is a report required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This report is supposed to provide citizens with important information about the Village’s drinking water as well as the efforts made by the water system to provide a safe drinking water supply. The report gives facts, violations (if applicable) and pollutants identified in the drinking water drinking supply throughout the calendar year of January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2017. The Village of Wheeling is devoted to providing all customers with safe and reliable drinking water. To find out more regarding this statement, please contact Shaun Wolfgram, Utility Superintendent, at (847) 279-6928 or by email at jwolfgram@wheelingil. gov. Este informe incluye informacion muy notable sobre el agua la cual usted bebe. Traduzcalo o hable con un profecional que lo entienda bien. SOURCE DRINKING WATER INFORMATION The source of drinking water used by the Village of Wheeling is Purchased Surface area Water. The Town of Wheeling gets water from Pond Michigan through the Southwest Water Commission (NWWC), which in turn receives drinking water from the City of Evanston that utilizes three drinking water cribs, or content, located over a mile offshore in Pond Michigan. The City of Evanston pumps and treats the pond water at their particular treatment plant. The rose provides the following treatment processes: coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. The water is then transferred to the NWWC by using a 60-inch transmission primary to a 25 mil gallon reservoir in the NWWC main moving station. From there, drinking water is pumped into the Village of Wheeling's three receiving channels. SOURCE OF DRINKING WATER The sources of drinking water (both tap water and bottled water) include streams, lakes, streams, fish ponds, reservoirs, springs and wells. As drinking water travels over the surface area of the land or perhaps through the ground, this dissolves naturally-occurring nutrients and, in some cases, radioactive material, and can get substances resulting from the existence of animals or coming from human activity. Contaminants which may be present in source drinking water include: - Microbes contaminants, such as infections and bacteria, which could come from sewage treatment plants, septic devices, agricultural livestock procedures and wildlife; -- Inorganic contaminants, including salts and alloys, which may be naturally occurring or perhaps result from urban surprise water run-off, commercial or domestic sewage discharges, oil and gas creation, mining or harvesting; - Pesticides and weed killers, which may come from a number of sources such as farming, urban storm drinking water run-off and home uses; - Organic and natural chemical contaminants, which includes synthetic and risky organic chemicals, that are by-products of industrial procedures and petroleum creation, and can also originate from gas stations, urban surprise water run-off and septic systems; -- Radioactive contaminants which may be naturally occurring or become the result of oil and gas creation and mining actions. Drinking water, including water in bottles, may reasonably be anticipated to contain in the least small amounts of some contaminants. The existence of contaminants does not always indicate that drinking water poses a wellness risk. More information regarding contaminants and potential health effects can be acquired by calling environmentally friendly Protection Agency (EPA) Safe Drinking Water Hotline in (800) 426-4791. To be able to ensure that tap water is secure to drink, EPA prescribes regulations which limit the number of certain pollutants in water given by public water devices. FDA regulations set up limits for pollutants in bottled water which usually must provide equal protection for public well-being. Some people may be weaker to contaminants on drinking water than the basic population. Immuno-compromised individuals such as persons with cancer undergoing radiation treatment, persons who have gone through organ transplants, individuals with HIV/AIDS or additional immune system disorders, a few elderly and babies can be particularly in danger from infections. These individuals should seek guidance about drinking water using their health care providers. EPA/CDC recommendations on the appropriate ways to lessen the risk of contamination by Cryptosporidium and also other microbial contaminants can be found from the Safe Drinking Water Servicenummer (800-426-4791). If present, elevated levels of business leaders can cause serious health issues, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead found in drinking water is mainly from materials and components associated with support lines and house plumbing. We are not able to control the variety of components used in plumbing parts. When your water continues to be sitting for several several hours, you can minimize the opportunity of lead exposure simply by flushing your faucet for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water intended for drinking or cooking food. If you are concerned about business leaders in your water, you might wish to have your drinking water tested. Information on business lead in drinking water, screening methods, and actions you can take to minimize exposure exist from the Safe Drinking Water Servicenummer or at http://www.epa.gov/safewater/lead..
