Researched a good bit online. Bought the fleck 2510 sxt softener and acid neutralizer. There was some confusion after delivery on products purchased. Called and Heather resolved quickly! Kudos to Shirley who was so patient in educating me and helping me to get the right unit for my needs. She answered my numerous questions and repeated calls as I researched water softeners and water filters, emailed me the manuals, and additional information about salt. Since my old softener was 35 years old there have been new developments in the industry, and the information that is out there is quite confusing to the "lay" person.
I learned that, in my area, there aren't many companies that sell and/or install water softeners, and some representatives know less than me. None talked about how big a unit I would need, and several tried to sell me an "all-in-one" unit or "salt-free" water softener. Shirley walked me through the whole process explaining the units, what they do, and the pros and cons of the ones to consider. The units arrived very quickly and without damage.

The filter seems to be working great, however during installation I had a few questions, so I initiated a chat. It was a weekend so I wasn't surprised to not get a response, so I left my email as instructed. I have never heard back from anyone. My question was whether I needed to run a line to my existing brine tank because there is an intake on the control, and the unit came with a screen/check valve that I think would only be used for that. I ended up watching a video which instructed capping the intake for iron filter applications, which I did, and then I discarded the screen for the brine tank. I concluded the control gets used for multiple applications. A simple set of instructions with the unit detailing this would have been helpful.

I previously bought a highly rated, all-brass quick connector set (from Amazon) and it was awful compared to this--it was a struggle to connect and sometimes the device I had connected flew off the hose because the connection hadn't sealed properly.
