Fine Mesh Premium Cation Resin is made for well water softeners fighting iron. The beads are smaller and packed tighter than regular resin, so there’s more surface area for iron to grab onto. That means fewer red-brown stains on your sinks, toilets, fixtures and laundry.

HOW TO USE
Fresh resin in five moves.
- Put the softener in bypass and unplug it.
- Drain the tank and remove the old resin.
- Cap the distributor tube, then pour in the new resin (a funnel helps).
- Reseat the valve and restore water.
- Run a regeneration to rinse and recharge.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Fine mesh resin is smaller and packed more tightly than regular resin, giving it a larger surface area for iron to attach to. This works because the iron in your water is slowly oxidized by your softener as it draws in brine from the salt tank through a small injector or venturi system.

What's Actually Causing Those Stains?
Excessive iron typically shows up as ugly red or brown staining on plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets, and laundry. With well water, iron usually starts in a ferrous state — meaning the water looks clear at the tap. Once exposed to air, it oxidizes into a ferric state, and that's when the red/brown "rust" material forms.
