SoftPro Calcite Filter (pH Neutralizer for Acidic Water)

Coping with Acidic Water?

Raise the pH within the water in the acidic state to alkaline non-corrosive state of 7.0 in your home and protect your plumbing. This filter method only demands you to add one bag of calcite every 12 months according to a four typical usage. The method consists of all the calcite needed and is prepared to install.

The 1" electronic valve give increases backwash capacity and rapid rinse occasions to increase overall performance to clean and lift calcite. Note: 7 GPM Service flow rate, 9 GPM peak flow rate 5 GPM backwash rate needed.

How it functions:

When acidic waters comes into contact with the calcite media, it gradually dissolves the calcium carbonate (within the calcite) to raise the pH which neutralizes the water. This removes/prevents scale, rust, copper, lead and other metals found within the plumbing method.

It would take over a minute to fill our 40oz water bottles (may not seem like a lot of time but if your standing in front of the fridge holding the paddle down while keeping the bottle under the flow of water it seems like forever) but they are filled in under 30 seconds since switching to this filter.

I had the cheaper non-odor version of the filter back in late 2016, lasted until summer 2018. I replaced it with this one, which is better, and the water tastes better than it did even when we had the old filter working well. I'd buy this filter from now on. We hated the faucet adapter before and I put in a new pullout extendable faucet that won't even take an adapter. This was our best option for us to get filtered water direct from the tap.

This filter does what it is suppose to do and was easy to install. I use it on a dedicated drinking water faucet so it will last longer. I'am pleased with the purchase. Follow the instructions for proper usage. Flush before first use and the slower you run it the better it filters. I have found that if the filled container of water is allowed set for a short while with the cap off, the water will taste even better.

Follow instructions for flushing out filter lines after installation (just run your tap for a few minutes). When I first turned on water after the install it was gray but after I flushed the lines it’s crystal clear. I can tell already the chlorine smell is gone from my water.

This works well. My tap water used to smell funny. After installing this filter the tap water smelled normal again. It also removed the bad taste. It does make the water pressure go decrease a little, but it is not enough to be a deal breaker. It only goes on the cold water line, so the hot water still was full pressure.

Right out of the box you could tell a difference in the water taste. I've had a in-line filter in basement for many years and moved to New home on a slab. I bought filters from Quality Water Treatment since I was very familiar with the Fleck powerheads, the filtration that they were using. They're quality powerheads and you can get parts for them and here in our remote area. Quality Water's website is not bad at all, especially if you know what you're looking for, and their customer service always gets back to me and gets everything done. There was a little inconvenience when they decided that they were going to start pre-loading their filters. I had to enlighten them, but we got that through. I talked to the people there, and I've gotten to know the young lady and the guy that answered the phones most of the time. They listened to my request and said, "Whenever we talk to you, whatever you would like, however you'd like."

But, should you need help, you can find YouTube vids online from the company that clearly demo the installation process in a few simple steps. Finally, the water.
