Big Creek WS District Drinking Water Report Info
During the late 1960's Anderson County was encountering a dry period with water supplies and wells going dry. Network pioneers moved toward Duke Power and Anderson County with building up a country water framework for area occupants yet their endeavours missed the mark. A portion of the neighbourhood heads chose the time had come to set up a rustic water framework in Anderson County and continued with the first means to give water in quite a while. There was an assembled conference at Palmetto High School in November 1971. The reason for this gathering was to sort out a provincial water framework for the upper piece of Anderson County. The gathering was led by Mr. David Chastain. The accompanying chiefs were chosen at this gathering: Wayne Rogers, Ted Bunton, Bill Creamer, Kenneth Rogers, Wayne Parker, Alton Boggs, Jimmy Rogers, Joe Dalrymple and Leon Clardy. This rustic water framework was named The Big Creek Water and Sewerage District because the framework was to buy its water from the City of Williamston and the City drew its water from the Big Creek Water Shed. A gathering was held with the Farmers Home Administration to get an advance to set up the Big Creek water framework. The Farmers Home Administration required Big Creek to sell 900 water taps at seventy-five dollars ($75) per tap to be qualified to get the 1.4 million dollars to introduce this water framework. The way toward selling taps assumed control over a year to finish. After many extended periods and diligent work, The Big Creek Water and Sewerage District was given a Charter from the State of South Carolina on August 1972. In this Charter, the State of South Carolina assigned the geographic region to be served by Big Creek Water and Sewerage District. Enormous Creek Water District is an open help district that is administration situated and ready to give quality consumable water to its clients. Enormous Creek Water District serves subdivisions, inhabitants and organizations situated inside its establishment zone. In January 1978, Big Creek Water District and Hammond Water District consolidated to frame a help organization known as BC-H Service Company. The reason for this organization is to manage, keep up and work both water frameworks. By framing this organization, it allows both water districts to work all the more effectively and with a less overhead cost. In April of 2000, Big Creek Water District consolidated with 12 other neighbourhood water districts and purchased the Duke Power Water Plant situated on Lake Hartwell. These 13 districts shaped the Anderson Regional Joint Water System which keeps up and works the transmission framework just as the water treatment plant..
