The town of Brookfield Drinking water Utility is ruled by the Public Support Commission of Wisconsin and is monitored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. In your area, the Utility reviews to the City of Brookfield Water and Sewer Board and Prevalent Council. Municipal drinking water is tested on a weekly basis for just about any bacteriological contamination through its distribution program. Water at each good, before treatment is usually added, is examined on a quarterly most basic. Additional testing is conducted twice weekly by utility to gauge the amount of chlorine, phosphate and flat iron oxides in the drinking water The City of Brookfield tests your drinking water for over 100 chemical substances and compounds, which includes lead, copper, Risky Organic Compounds (VOC’s), Synthetic Organic Substances (SOC’s), pesticides and organic and natural compounds. These checks ensure the quality of the drinking water, providing you with a secure and ample flow of water for your needs. In compliance with Federal government regulations, this statement is published yearly and sent to almost all customers. Even though there are several detections, the levels of those detections are under the safe drinking water standards, with all the exceptions noted beneath. Our water is secure to drink. Not classified by this report would be the numerous other pollutants for which we examined but were not recognized. The City has 1 well, the Bishops Woods well, that exceeded the Radium 226/228 MCL in 2017. Compliance with all the Radionuclide standards is founded on the average radium level over 4 sectors. To date, the City remains to comply with all the regulations. The City is usually closely monitoring the radium levels with this well and operating closely with the Wisconsin DNR if long term treatment is required. Monitoring and Reporting Infringement Volatile Organic Pollutants and Synthetic Organic and natural Contaminants - 3 total samples had been missed in 2017. Compliance samples are not taken because the water wells were out of service at the time. The sample schedule continues to be re-enacted now that water wells are back in support. Detected Contaminants-Your drinking water was tested for a lot of contaminants last year. Our company is allowed to monitor for a few contaminants less regularly than once a year. The next tables list just those contaminants that have been detected in your drinking water. If a contaminant was detected last year, it is going to appear in the following furniture without a sample day. If the contaminant had not been monitored last year, unfortunately, he detected within the last five years, it will come in the tables beneath along with the sample day. The City of Brookfield Water and Sewer Board generally matches the 2nd Tuesday from the month. Please contact City Hall in 262-782- 9650 or perhaps visit the City’s website www.ci.brookfield.wi.us for area and time of conferences..
