Duarte is usually served entirely by simply groundwater sources from your Main San Gabriel Basin. Chlorine addition is the only water to drink treatment used in the water system. Chlorination ensures disinfection and maintains the bacteriological water quality inside the distribution system. Water supply is allocated for residential, industrial, and industrial utilization in the cities of Duarte and Bradbury; portions of Azusa, Irwindale, and Monrovia; and also some unincorporated areas of Los Angeles Region. NOTICE OF RESOURCE WATER ASSESSMENT (SWA) An assessment with the drinking water sources meant for the California American Water - Duarte water system was completed in February the year 2003. No man-made pollutants have been detected in many of the groundwater materials. The sources are believed vulnerable to the following actions (although not connected with any detected chemicals): historic waste dumps/landfills, chemical/petroleum processing/storage, historical gas stations, historic and active mining functions, research laboratories, and animal feeding businesses. A copy of the finished assessment may be seen at California North american Water, 8657 Grand Avenue, Rosemead, CALIFORNIA 91770.
