Crestview WSD Drinking Water Company and EPACrestview WSD Drinking Water Report Info
Crestview Water and Sanitation District were organized and set up in 1949 as Baker Metropolitan Water and Sanitation District to give water and sanitary sewer administration for the residents of the District. Since the organization, the additional property has been included in the District including the zone of the Perl Mack Neighborhood Group (Area) in the late 1950s. The name was changed to Crestview Water and Sanitation District in 1972 to more readily mirror the territory of administration which now encompasses roughly four square miles. As the territory created, water and sewer mains were added to fulfill needs for both local use and fire protection. Water was given to the territory by the District from two profound wells, one at 72nd Avenue east of Pecos Street and one at Clark Court and Kidder Drive. During popularity periods, the well water was supplemented by water from the District's water treatment plant. Wastewater was treated at the District's treatment plant at 64th Avenue and Pecos Street. The District shut its sewer treatment plant in 1978 and now is an individual from the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District and has the wastewater treated at the central plant. In 1988 the wells and water treatment plant were shut and Crestview began receiving the majority of its treated water from the Denver Water system. In 1992, Crestview built up a hold and replacement fund to pay for the replacement of deteriorating water and sewer infrastructure in an opportune manner. The District has built up a long term funding plan that is refreshed annually for the replacement work. Every year the District determines the most genuinely crumbled territories and has a water system and a wastewater system replacement or rehabilitation undertaking designed. The ventures are offered and granted by the District to contractors for construction..
