About Us
For more Tennessee resources & information
Is my moving water safe? Yes, each of our water meets most of EPA’s health specifications. We have conducted many tests for over 70 contaminants that may be found in drinking water. As you are going to see in the graph and or chart on the back, we all only detected on the lookout for these contaminants. We all found all of these impurities at safe amounts. What is the source of my water? The water is used surface water through the Holston River. Each of our goals is to guard our water by contaminants and we will work with the State to look for the vulnerability of our normal water source to probable contamination. The Tn Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has prepared a Source Water Examination Program (SWAP) Record for the neglected water sources portion of this water program. The SWAP Record assesses the susceptibility of untreated normal water sources to potential contamination. To ensure a safe drinking water supply, all public drinking water systems treat and routinely test their very own water. Water details have been rated since reasonably susceptible, somewhat susceptible or a bit susceptible based on geologic factors and individual activities in the vicinity of the source. The Initial Utility District Hawkins County sources graded as reasonably prone to potential contamination. Evidence of Tennessee’s Supply Water Assessment Plan, the Source Water Examination summaries, susceptibility scorings and the overall TDEC report to EPA can be looked at online at https://www.tn.gov/environment/article/wrwq-source-water-assessment or you may speak to the Water System to get copies of particular assessments. Why are right now their contaminants in my normal water? Drinking water, including water in bottles, may reasonably be anticipated to contain for least small amounts of some contaminants. Arsenic intoxication contaminants do not indicate that normal water poses a well-being a risk. More information regarding contaminants and potential health effects can be acquired by calling environmentally friendly Protection Agency’s A safe drinking water supply Hotline (800-426- 4791). Este informe conlleva información muy especial. Tradúscalo o Habla con Alguien que lo entienda bien. To learn more about your drinking water, make sure you call Keith Herron at 423-357-7511. How could I get involved? Our Normal water Board meets within the second Monday of each month at a few: 00 p. meters. at 523 T. Main Blvd. You should feel free to participate in these kinds of meetings. The Committee of First Energy District Hawkins State serves four-yr terms. Vacancies within the Board of Committee are filled by a visit by the Hawkins Corp. Mayor from a directory of three nominees. Decisions by the Board of Commissioners on consumer complaints brought ahead of the Board of Committee under the District's consumer complaint policy can be reviewed by the Energy Management Review Panel of the Tennessee Section of Environment and Conservation according to Section 7-82-702(7) of Tennessee Code Annotated. Is our normal water system meeting various other rules that rule our operations? The state of Hawaii and EPA need us to test and report on each of our water regularly to make certain its safety. We certainly have met all of these requirements. Results of not regulated contaminant analysis can be obtained upon request. We wish you to know that we all pay attention to all the guidelines..
