Is my drinking water secure? Yes. In 2017 tests were executed for more than 57 ingredients that might be found in moving water. Your drinking water satisfies all of the EPA’s well-being standards. What is the source of my normal water? Your water originates from a surface normal water source, the Cumberland River or typically referred to as Cheatham Lake (Harpeth Valley U. M. ). We aim to protect each of our water from impurities and we are working together with the State to determine the weakness of our water supply to contaminants. The Tn Department of Environment and Conservation provides prepared a Supply Water Assessment to get the water supplies portion of this water program. The Assessment Susceptibility Ratings to probable contamination are the following: Reasonably (high), somewhat (moderate) or a bit (low). The scores are based on geologic points and human actions within the source normal water protection area of the normal water source. HB&TS’s normal water sources rated seeing that reasonably susceptible to potential contamination. An explanation with this report can be viewed on the web at www.tn.gov/environment/article/wr-wq-source-water-assessmentor you could contact TDEC for 1-888-891-8332 to obtain clones of specific examination. Why are there ingredients in my water? Moving water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at a minimum small amount of several compounds. Community normal water systems are required to divulge the detection of compounds; however, water in bottles companies are not required to comply with this legislation. The presence of compounds would not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk. More details about compounds and potential health results can be obtained by contacting the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791). The sources of moving water (both tap and bottled water) contain rivers, lakes, avenues, ponds, reservoirs, suspension systems, and wells. Since water travels above the surface of the acquire or through the surface, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and, in some cases, radioactive materials, and can pick up chemicals resulting from the presence of pets or animals or human activity. Impurities that may be present in supply water: ? Microbes contaminants, such as malware and bacteria, which can come from sewage treatment plants, septic devices, agricultural livestock functions, and wildlife. ? Inorganic contaminants, just like salts and precious metals, which can be naturally- taking place or result from metropolitan stormwater runoff, professional, or domestic sewage discharges, oil and gas development, mining, or harvesting. ? Pesticides and weed killers, which may come from many different sources such as culture, urban stormwater runoff, and residential uses. ? Organic substance contaminants, including fake and volatile organic and natural chemicals, which are by-products of industrial processes and petroleum production, and will, also, come from gasoline stations, urban stormwater runoff, and septic devices. ? Radioactive impurities, which can be naturally occurring or perhaps be the result of coal and oil production and gold mining activities. To make certain that tap water is safe to consume, EPA and the Tn Dept. of Environment and Conservation suggest regulations that limit the number of certain impurities in water offered by public water devices. FDA regulations create limits for impurities in bottled water which in turn must provide the same protections for public welfare. How can I get involved? Each of our Water Board satisfies at our business office on the fourth Thursday of each month for 9: 00 am. Each of our offices is located for 505 Downs Blvd, Franklin, Tennessee 37064. Please feel free to be involved in these meetings. Is our water program meeting other guidelines that govern each of our operations?
