About Us
For more Tennessee resources & information
Is my moving water safe? Yes, each of our water meets each of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) health specifications. In 2017, we all conducted tests over 50 contaminants that will be found in drinking water. The Table on the subsequent page shows individuals contaminants that were discovered January 1 through December 31, 2017, all of which were for safe levels. If you wish a complete list of most substances which we all test, please give us a call at (865) 882-3242. To ensure that faucet water is safe to drink, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY and the Tennessee Section of Environment and Conservation prescribe restrictions that limit the number of certain contaminants in water provided by open public water systems. Fda (FDA) regulations create limits for impurities in bottled water which in turn must provide the same protections for public welfare. What is the source of my water? The water comes from the Emory River, the surface water supply within Morgan and Roane counties. The Emory River Watershed includes parts of Bledsoe, Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, and Roane areas. A watershed can be explained as the entire land location that ultimately canals into a particular watercourse or body of water. We try to protect our normal water from contaminants and work with the State to look for the vulnerability of our hydrant to potential toxins. TDEC has well prepared a Source Normal water Assessment Report to get bodies of water supplying area water systems. Normal water sources have been graded with high, average or low susceptibility based on the likelihood and character of emits from potential poison sources and individual activities within the areas hydrologically upgradient in the raw water reference. Our Water Supply was rated seeing that moderately susceptible. To make certain safe drinking water, all open public water systems take care of and routinely test out their water. Information concerning Tennessee’s Source Normal water Assessment Program, like the Source Water Examination Report, susceptibility scorings and the overall TDEC report submitted to EPA can be viewed on the web at https://www.tn.gov/environment/program-areas/wrwater-resources/water-quality/source-water-assessment. Html code or you may email us to obtain copies of specific assessments. How come their contaminants inside my water? Drinking water, which includes bottled water, may moderately be expected to include at least a small amount of some impurities. The presence of contaminants would not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk. More details about contaminants and potential health results can be obtained by contacting the EPA’s A safe drinking water supply Hotline at (800-426-4791). The sources of moving water (both tap water and bottled water) contain rivers, lakes, avenues, ponds, reservoirs, suspension systems, and wells. Since water travels above the surface of the terrain or through the surface, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and, sometimes, radioactive material, and will pick up substances as a result of the presence of animals or perhaps from human activity..
