To assist you better understand these kinds of terms we've supplied the following definitions: Optimum Contaminant Level (MCL): The highest level of a contaminant that is allowed in drinking water. MCLs are set since close to the MCLGs as possible using the best readily available treatment technology. Optimum Contaminant Level Objective (MCLG): The level of a contaminant in liquids below which there is not any known or anticipated risk to wellbeing. MCLGs allow for a margin of basic safety. Maximum residual medical disinfectant level or MRDL: The highest level of a disinfectant allowed found in drinking water. There is effective evidence that addition of a disinfectant is essential for control of microbes contaminants. Maximum recurring disinfectant level objective or MRDLG: The amount of a drinking water medical disinfectant below which you cannot find any known or predicted risk to wellness. MRDLGs do not reveal the benefits of the use of disinfectants to control microbial pollutants.
