Lincoln Water Commission Drinking Water Report Info
The Lincoln Water Commission started in 1955, when it was made by a demonstration of the General Assembly to turn into a Quasi-Municipal office in charge of structure and working an open water system for the Town of Lincoln. Before that time, different segments of the Town were adjusted by three separate water systems; The City of Woonsocket, The City of Pawtucket and the Town of Cumberland. Fire security frm those systems was deficient and some major modern structure flames provoked the need to assess a water system that would tackle those issues and accommodate development and improvement of the Town of Lincoln where it's residents would be furnished with a satisfactory drinking water supply and truly necessary fire assurance. The Lincoln Water Commission obtained water lines from Woonsocket, Pawtucket and Cumberland and developed water transmission mains, water storerooms and enormous capacity wells to make it's very own water system that in the end was extended to serve the whole Town. In 1985, Lincoln associated with the Providence water system for it's essential water supply and ended utilization of it's wells because of tainting of a portion of the wells. Today, following quite a while of water system extension, the Lincoln water system comprises of around 133 miles of water mains going in size up to 24" distance across, serving the whole town. Lincoln additionally works four primary siphoning stations and one well siphoning station for it's wellspring of water supply and has the ability of drawing water from Woonsocket for supplemental stock..
