Water flows in the reservoir towards the Water Remedy Facility (WTF) within Madbury, where it's treated utilizing coagulation, mixed air floatation as well as dual press filtration procedure. The handled water is chlorinated along with sodium hypochlorite before distribution to the system. Sodium hydroxide (used to regulate the last pH as well as alkalinity), fluoride because hydrofluorosilicic acidity (used to avoid tooth decay) as well as poly/orthophosphate (sequestering chemical to lessen precipitation associated with iron as well as manganese as well as corrosion inhibitor accustomed to protect submission system pipes) will also be added prior to distribution to the regionally offered water clients. There are three groundwater water wells in Madbury (Madbury Water wells #2, #3 as well as #4) which are pumped using the treated area water via a transmission main towards the Booster Moving Station within Newington. Clients in Madbury, Durham, plus some customers together Fox Stage Road within Newington, receive water in the transmission primary. The region in Greenland served through the public water program, and the southern part of Portsmouth is primarily given by Greenland Nicely. Sodium hypochlorite, as well as poly/ortho-phosphate, are put into the water given by the Portsmouth Nicely #1, Collins Nicely and Greenland Nicely. Fluoride because hydrofluorosilicic acid can also be added in Greenland Nicely. The Town also handles the Pease Tradeport consuming water program, which is independent in the Portsmouth water program.
