Once more we are pleased to present our annual drinking water quality report. As with years past, our company is committed to delivering the best-quality drinking water feasible. To that end, we stay vigilant in getting together with the challenges of recent regulations, source drinking water protection, water preservation, and community outreach and education whilst continuing to provide the needs of most of our water users. 2017 was an effective year for drinking water quality improvements. Included in the ongoing Water Primary Replacement Project, all of us installed over several miles of new drinking water mains. Our aged water mains (some of which are more than 80 years old) consist of iron, manganese, and also other mineral deposits that trigger “brown water” once disturbed by restoration work or droits flushing. Early back in, we installed fresh motor controls upon our pumps in the Old Oaken Container Water Treatment Herb, which resulted in increased pump efficiency and significant energy preservation. Community Involvement The Board of Selectmen, who are our Water Committee, hold open public conferences two times per month in Town Hall. Count on All of us Delivering high-quality water to our customers entails far more than just pressing water through plumbing. Water treatment is a complex, time-consuming procedure. Because tap water is extremely regulated by federal and state laws, water treatment plant and program operators must be certified and are required to total classroom training and years of on-the-job teaching before becoming completely qualified. To get their professional permit, our water treatment employees receive fundamental training in a wide range of topics, including math, biology, chemistry, and electrical power. Currently, all of our drinking water treatment plant providers hold a professional permits, including our Main Treatment Plant Owner, who also keeps a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
