For almost 60 years, the Woodruff-Roebuck Water District has given the occupants of southern Spartanburg County with perfect, dependable drinking water. Made by the General Assembly in 1956, the Woodruff-Roebuck Water District was entrusted with giving quality water to the town of Woodruff. For quite a long time, the framework obtained water from Spartanburg Water, yet in 2000, General Manager Curt Dillard asked the Woodruff-Roebuck Water District Board of Commissioners to start assessing the future needs of the region. The subsequent examination found the water locale could improve security and effectiveness by structure its own treatment office and repository. In June 2013, the Woodruff-Roebuck Water area opened its new water treatment plant on Kitchens Road, close to the juncture of the North and South Tyger waterways in Roebuck, allowing the office to pull from the two sources. About 2.6 million gallons of water is handled through the plant every day, giving drinking water to 10,000 clients in region that stretches from Spartanburg to Enoree, Willow Creek to Roebuck.
