Salt Based Water Softeners remove calcium and magnesium (hardness) from the water in order to soften it
Salt-free water softeners leave these minerals in the water by neutralizing them instead. To neutralize these minerals the Softpro Naturalsoft salt-free system converts the calcium and magnesium into crystallized forms that aren't able to adhere to surfaces such as pipes, dishes, and faucets. Calcium and Magnesium can have health benefits, so leaving them in your water can be beneficial.

Added Big Blue Carbon Cartridge will remove chlorine and sediment from the water! (Please note if you add the upflow carbon filter this Big Blue Carbon Cartridge will be replaced with just a standard Sediment cartridge)

The KDF55 filter removes chlorine and heavy metals from the water and prevents bacteria growth.
The FDF85 filters out or reduces iron, hydrogen sulfide/ sulfur and heavy metals from your well water.
Filter sulfur up to 2 PPM.
The KDF media controls scale, bacteria and algae, while giving you great tasting water throughout the whole house.
The MediaGuard is pre-installed in the water softener mineral tank.
This improves its filtration capability, and is backwashed with the softener regeneration.

- KDF 55 (city water applications) removes and reduces chlorine and water-soluble heavy metals in water.
Perfect for municipal utility city water. - KDF 85 (well water applications) removes iron, hydrogen sulfide/ sulfur and heavy metals from your well water.
- KDF 85 (well water applications) filters hydrogen sulfide/ sulfur up to 2 PPM.
How it works
The MediaGuard locks onto the control valve and slides down the riser tube.
Following entering the MediaGuard, water is distributed into the chambers containing the KDF media, and the media is lifted and "swirls" with the water.
Water leaves the chambers exactly where it continues through the softener resin and then exits via the riser tube.
The flow is reversed throughout the backwash.
The resin is lifted and cleaned of sediment, and also the KDF media releases any oxidized contaminants, regenerating them.
KDF MediaGuard is easily installed in the water softener mineral tank. Just simply click the MediaGuard in the softener mineral tank.
Note:
Only the SoftPro Elite softener systems will have the KDF MediaGuard pre-installed.
KDF55 MediaGuard (city water application) is located near the bottom of the tank.
KDF85 MediaGuard (well water application) is located near the top of the tank.
