In September 1944, the Seekonk Post War Public Works Committee met to examine post-war extends by districts of the Commonwealth. A town water supply was chosen as the task of most extreme significance, and therefore, an investigation of the water supply in neighbouring networks was started. Building firms were reached to give an intensive depiction of the means important to structure and actualize a town water supply. A proper solicitation to build up and introduce an open water supply in the Town of Seekonk was acknowledged by the Committee and sent to the State for endorsement. The Seekonk Water District was officially perceived by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1946. The First Fifty Years April 15, 1946 - The primary gathering of the Seekonk Water District was held. Cash was appropriated to start the establishment of the water supply system. 1947 - The Seekonk Water District was brought on the web. A water stockpiling tank, alongside 27 miles of mains and administration associations, was laid to cover the biggest populated territories of the Town. As the District developed, extra activities were attempted to give satisfactory support of the Town. 1961 - Voters consistently endorsed the structure of a second water stockpiling tank 1966 - Voters affirmed intends to manufacture a new Water District Office on land beside the Junior High School, which is still being used today 1979 - Ability to associate with Pawtucket Water was built up for crises 1986 - Voters affirmed to develop the District's fifth well and siphon station 1988 - A PC charging system was executed. The noteworthy development of the District prompted the making of a far-reaching Master Plan. 1992 - Phase I of the Master Plan, a multi-year development program, was received.
