SOURCE DRINKING WATER ASSESSMENTS In 2015, the District up-to-date its 2002 resource water assessments of 13 of the wells. Initial resource water assessments for 2 additional wells had been completed in 2011. These types of assessments identify actions that could potentially ruin drinking water very well. Aromas Red Sands The Aromas Reddish Sands aquifer provides are considered to be the majority of vulnerable to on-site home septic systems and potential leakage coming from sewer lines. A few of these wells are also susceptible to contamination from close by parks, a close-by the golf course, irrigated plants, fertilizer/ pesticide/herbicide applications, high-density housing, transport corridors, other source wells, and/or chemical substances used at the water treatment plants. Purisima Formation The Purisima Formation supplies are believed to be the most susceptible to contamination from dried out cleaners, historic and active automobile gasoline stations and repair outlets, sewer collection devices, photo processing/ stamping establishments, high density casing, transportation corridors, carport, other supply water wells, and utility stations/maintenance areas.
