Southerly Santa Rosa Power System (SSRUS) is usually pleased to present to the 2016 Annual Water Quality Report. The constant goal is always to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of water. This report displays our water top quality results and the actual mean. We want one to understand the efforts all of us make to continually improve the water treatment process and safeguard our water assets. We are committed to making sure the quality of your drinking water. If you have any queries about this report or perhaps concerning your drinking water utility, please get in touch with Nathan Ford, Associate to the City Manager in (850) 934-5100. The primary supply of drinking water is purchased from your Fairpoint Regional Power System (FRUS), a wholesale purveyor of water, owned and operated by the Associated with Gulf Breeze, Halfway Water System and Holley-Navarre Water Program. FRUS consists of 6 (6) wells which usually draw from the Fine sand & Gravel Aquifer and are chemically cured with lime & orthophosphates for ph level adjustment and chlorine for disinfection. More information regarding FRUS hydrant can be obtained from Donna Lupola, (850) 939-2427 x234. We buy additional water coming from Midway Water Program, Inc. (Midway), in whose four (4) groundwater wells draw from the Sand and Stones Aquifer and the Floridan Aquifer. The production of those wells is chemically treated with lime green and orthophosphates intended for pH adjustment and chlorine for disinfection. Additional information on the Halfway water supply can be obtained coming from Tory Byrd, Management Assistant, at (850) 932-5188. Due to the top quality of water received from FRUS and Midway, the only treatment done by SSRUS is usually chlorination to boost the disinfection residual within our system. The causes of drinking water (both plain tap water and bottled water) include rivers, ponds, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and water wells. As water moves over the surface from the land or throughout the ground, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and, in some cases, radioactive materials, and can pick up chemicals resulting from the presence of pets or liveliness. To ensure that plain tap water is safe to drink, the EPA prescribes rules, which limit the number of certain contaminants found in water provided by general public water systems. The FDA regulations establish limitations for contaminants in bottled water, which need to provide the same safety for public health. Water, including bottled water, might reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of a few contaminants. The presence of pollutants does not necessarily show that the water positions a health risk. More information about pollutants and potential wellness effects can be obtained simply by calling the Environmental Safety Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Servicenummer at 1-800-426-4791. SSRUS, FRUS, and Halfway routinely monitor intended for contaminants in your water according to Federal government and State laws, rules, and regulations. Except exactly where indicated otherwise, this kind of table shows the results of our monitoring for the period of January 1st due to December 31st, 2016. Sampling for Trihalomethanes, Haloacetic Acids, Chlorine, Bacteria, Lead, & Copper was performed by SSRUS. Other results were performed simply by FRUS and Halfway. Some of the data, although representative, are more than one year old, yet represent the most recent info. As authorized and approved by EPA, the state of Hawaii has reduced monitoring requirements for certain pollutants to less frequently than once each year because the concentration of those contaminants is not likely to vary significantly coming from year to year. In 2016 the Department of Environmental Protection performed a Source Drinking water Assessment on the Halfway Water System and FRUS systems. The assessments were carried out to provide information about any kind of potential sources of contaminants in the vicinity of our supplier’s wells. A search from the data sources suggested no potential causes of contamination near the FRUS wells. Halfway, there are 3 potential sources of contamination recognized in their system, having a low susceptibility level. These assessment answers are available on the FDEP Source Water Evaluation and Protection System website at www.dep.state.fl.us/swapp or they can be from South Santa Rosado Utility System..
