About Us

Where Does Our Water Come From? The City of Milton makes use of groundwater aquifers for our water supply. Well #three, Well #10, and Well #12 are all positioned in the Redondo/Milton Aquifer. Well, #5 is inside the Edgewood/Eastern Upland Aquifer. Corridor Wells #1 and #2 are also within the Redondo/Milton Aquifer and were positioned into operation in 2008 till November 2009 while supply testing discovered high degrees of iron and manganese. Iron and manganese are secondary contaminants and do now not pose a health chance. An iron and manganese filtration plant became built and put into service in October 2011 which now filters out iron and manganese at that website to lessen tiers beneath the most contaminant degree. Aquifers are herbal, underground water resources that carry and shop massive amounts of groundwater within layers of gravel, rocks, and sand. Aquifers are resupplied or “re-charged” as water slowly filters down through the soil layers. After the water comes out of the wells, we treat it to raise the pH stage and we add disinfectant to defend from microbial contaminants. Milton has two interties to be used in case of unexpected emergencies. The intertie with Mt. View-Edgewood Water Company is for seasonal use as vital and is positioned near Milton’s border in Edgewood. Mt. View-Edgewood’s water is acquired completely from groundwater assets. The different intertie is an emergency intertie with Lakehaven Water and Sewer District along Pacific Highway East. Lakehaven obtains its water from a mixture of surface water and groundwater. Please discuss with Mt. View-Edgewood Water Company (www.Mtvewater.Com) and Lakehaven Utility (www.Lakehaven.Org) net websites for his or her water great reviews..
