Since 1769, St. Charles, Missouri, a reestablished notable city on the Missouri River, has been inviting guests to its shores. Established by French Canadian hide dealer Louis Blanchette, the city was named Les Petites Cotes, ("The Little Hills"), which later advanced into Saint Charles.
