Tellico Area Services System (TASS) an utility company which is a division of both Monroe and Loudon Counties was officially made on December 3, 1970 by a joint understanding among Loudon and Monroe Counties. The purpose was to give a cutting edge water and wastewater treatment system to its citizens and also to understand the zone's potential for industrial and residential development. TASS is administered by the Water and Wastewater Finance Board in Nashville, TN. TASS employs 23 full time employees, some of whom are in the newly fabricated 5,200 square foot office complex.
