Joint Water Percentage About 30% of TVWD’s water originates from the Joint Normal water Commission (JWC), which can be jointly owned by District and the metropolitan areas of Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Forest Grove. JWC water options are Hagg Pond and Barney Water tank, as well as the seasonal movement of the Tualatin Lake. Water from these kinds of sources is cared for at the JWC normal water treatment plant located near Forest Grove. For more information about the JWC, visit www.jwcwater.org. Portland Water Bureau About 70% of TVWD’s water is purchased from the Associated with Portland. Portland’s major source is drinking water from the Bull Work watershed in the Mt. Hood National Woods. Portland also uses pumped groundwater through the Columbia South Coast Well Field after the Columbia Lake to augment the Fluff Run supply as needed. Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Through the winter when drinking water is plentiful, TVWD stores treated moving water underground in the aquifer surrounding the Grabhorn well on Cooper Mountain.
