White House Utility District is geographically Tennessee’s largest water and sewer utility serving Robertson and Sumner Counties. The District’s service area encompasses over 600 square miles including Cross Plains, Gallatin, Goodlettsville, Greenbrier, Hendersonville, Millersville, Orlinda, Portland, Springfield, and White House. We recognize the responsibility of our role to produce and provide water that is safe and of high quality each and every day. Our commitment extends well beyond the present but into the future as well. WHUD knows the importance water plays in our life, health, and vitality of our community and that having a plentiful water supply is a critical component to maintaining our quality of life. WHUD is geographically the largest utility district in the state of TN. Our service area covers 600 square miles, which is almost twice the size of New York City (a little more than 300 square miles). Because of our physical size, we have a long way to pump the water. From our water treatment plant on Rockland Road in Hendersonville, we pump water 40 miles north, all the way to the Kentucky state line; nearly 20 miles east; roughly 15 miles west; and several miles south to Cages and Douglas Bend areas in Gallatin. Our service area is made up of 1,042 miles of pipes, which also contains tanks, pump stations, valves, and pumps that must be maintained. To put it in perspective, that’s longer than a trip from White House, TN to Ottawa, Canada (1011 miles)..
