In assembly, you do have to tighten the spigot to the canister using some muscle. But once it is on well it never is a problem.

I've read comments about the spigot being 'fragile' and breaking, but if you brace it with one finger behind the spigot and press the handle back with the thumb, there is very little stress on the spigot.
