(2 Filters) 10 Micron Carbon Block Filter (Carbon #C20-2)
- Highest absorption of chemicals and bad tastes/odors, for a clean, fresh flavor
- Removes color and cloudiness
- Higher chlorine reduction
- Great dirt-holding capacity
- Coconut shell granular activated carbon
- Netting, end caps, outer wrap: polypropylene · Gaskets: neoprene
- Ideal for point-of-use and reverse osmosis applications
Post carbon taste & odor filter.
Maintenance:
Sediment filter — every 12 months. Carbon filter — every 12 months. Note: schedule varies depending on water conditions and usage.
Replace Filters Regularly. Maintain Your Best Water Quality.
Typical replacement schedule (depends on water quality and usage):
- Sediment Filter — every 6 to 12 months
- Carbon Filters — every 6 to 12 months
- RO Membrane — every 24 to 36 months
- Advanced Alkalizing Filter — every 12 to 24 months
Advantage Snapshot
For any RO system — including SoftPro's — it's genuinely important to replace the bottom three filters every three months. Skip that schedule, and you put more pressure on the components after them: your membrane and your post filter or alkalizer filter, which are the last things your water runs through. Replacement is easy — like changing a light bulb. Turn off the water, unscrew, pull the old filter, drop in the new one, screw it back on. That's it.
Keep in mind: your membrane and alkalizer/carbon post filter generally last 3-5 years — but only if you've kept up with these bottom-three replacements on schedule. Skip that, and those more expensive components wear out faster, costing you more down the line.
Over time, unreplaced filters clog and saturate with contaminants, reducing their ability to remove impurities effectively. Regular replacement ensures consistent filtration performance, extends the lifespan of your system's other components, and helps prevent the buildup of harmful substances that could compromise your purified water's quality.
Protect Your Drinking Water. A Smart Health Investment.
-
Sediment Filter (5 Micron)
Removes sand, silt, rust particles, and dirt before they reach the RO membrane and downstream filters — protecting them from clogging and damage, improving flow rate and water quality, and extending appliance and component life. NSF Standard 42 certified, FDA-approved material, 100% higher-purity polypropylene.
-
Stages 2 & 3: Carbon Block Filter (10 Micron, doubled)
Removes chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceutical residues, and industrial chemicals, while reducing heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic. Doubling this stage optimizes overall water quality and protects the downstream RO membrane.
-
Performance RO Membrane
The heart of the system: a thin, semi-permeable barrier letting pure water molecules through while blocking dissolved solids, salts, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and other impurities. Requires proper maintenance and periodic replacement to prevent fouling and scaling.
-
Advanced Alkalizing Filter (or Standard Post-Carbon Filter)
Restores natural alkalinity and mineral balance, raising pH back up after RO's naturally acidic output — adding calcium, magnesium, and potassium back in. The standard post-carbon option instead focuses on removing any remaining off-tastes or odors.
Drink Healthy Alkaline PH Water
The Advanced Alkalizing Filter raises your water up to 7.0-9.5 pH, depending on your source water. No more acidic water, no more paying a premium for alkaline water in bottles.

50 Gallons Per Day
Pentair's GRO TLC Residential Membrane uses an industry-leading Thin Layer Composite membrane, offering high-quality water across a broad range of water chemistry. Every membrane meets our factory's rigorous efficiency requirements before shipping. Encapsulated membranes come with quick-connect fittings already on the housing.
Most standard RO systems run on a 3:1 ratio — for every 1 gallon of filtered water, up to 3 gallons go down the drain. With this high-efficiency 1:1 membrane, you conserve as much as 75% on water waste drainage.
- 50 gallons per day
- 300x better efficiency than typical 3:1 filters
- 100% dry Thin Layer Composite membrane, maximizing shelf life
- Maintenance-free — encapsulated membrane extends cartridge life up to 2-5 years
- Dimensions: 2.5" diameter x 16" length · Weight: 2 lb. 8 oz.
- Flow rate: 50 GPD · Operating pressure: 125 PSI · Max temperature: 120°F (49°C)
- Operating free chlorine: 0.1 PPM · Operating pH: 4-11
- 1/4" quick-connect fittings, permeate check valve
Get Safe, Quality, Healthy Drinking Water
There may be more in your water than you want to know. This RO filters down to .001 microns — super filtration that catches viruses, heavy metals, chloramine, and up to 99% of toxins.
It doesn't get much better than this. Drinking water matters too much to leave to chance — make it simple by having the best water in your home. No more buying bottled water, and be eco-conscious while you're at it.
Get Ideal Drinking Water
Standard tap water carries hundreds of Total Dissolved Solids — most homes have no idea how many are actually in their drinking water.
What are TDS?
- Inorganic salts, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals and cations
- Metals, nitrates, chlorides, sulfates, carbonates
- Contaminants, impurities, and toxins
Where they come from:
Natural sources like rivers and lakes, storm water runoff, agricultural runoff, sewage, urban runoff, plumbing and pipe residue, industrial waste, chemical treatment, and road deicing salt.
Safe, Healthy Drinking Water
A quality reverse osmosis system delivers genuinely ideal drinking water for your family. 0 to 50 PPM TDS is the target for ideal drinking water — and that's exactly the range this system is built to hit.
Chlorine & Chloramine... Not In My Water!
More water companies keep increasing chloramine use as a disinfectant — and even within EPA and CDC limits, there are real effects to know about:
- Respiratory problems and increased asthma risk from chloramine vapors
- Aggravated digestive disorders
- Increased pneumonia and other influenza-related death risk
- Decreased red blood cell efficiency
- Dry, itchy, flaking skin and dandruff
Stop Drinking Pool Water!
Many Americans are drinking 300 to 600 times above the EPA's chlorine health guidelines. It helps kill microbes — but at high levels, it's a real health concern:
- Forms Trihalomethanes (THMs) — linked to cancer and other issues
- Eye and nose irritation
- Stomach and gut discomfort
- Dry, itchy, flaking skin and dandruff
See How It Works
Reduces chlorine, chloramines, bad tastes and odors, debris, rust, solids, and other impurities. Reduces TDS, pesticides, heavy metals, viruses, and most other harmful contaminants.
