Our water treatment plant utilizes surface area water obtained from a great intake structure inside the Ohio River. A Source Water Evaluation of our surface drinking water source was finished by the River Notify Information Network (RAIN) in 2016. The assessment found which our surface water resource is potentially vulnerable to accidents and splatters along nearby transport corridors (roadways, railroads, and river traffic), bridges, boating, marinas, barge traffic, car repair shops, pickup truck terminals, utility substations, residential developments, mixed sewer overflows, street deicing, and deserving of storage. Overall, the surface area water source includes a high risk of significant contamination. Complete reviews of our Source Drinking water Assessments were allocated to the Authority and PADEP offices. Replications of the complete reviews are available for review in the PADEP Southwest Local Office in Maryland, Records Management Device at 412-442-4000. Overview reports of the evaluation are available at the Center Township Water Authority Office environment and also on the PADEP website at www.dep. state. pa. us/dep/depurate/watertight/WC/Subjects/SrceProt/SourceAssessment/default. htm..
