n 2017, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) performed a Resource Water Assessment upon our system as part of their particular statewide source drinking water assessment project. Resource Water Assessment reviews identify and evaluate any potential causes of contamination in the vicinity of every water supply in the condition. This inventory just identifies potential causes of contamination. It does not imply that these sites are positively causing contamination from the drinking water source. The FDEP has performed a source drinking water assessment on the shallow aquifer program in Florida Town, and a search from the data sources suggested two potential causes of contamination near the wells (injection very well and petroleum storage space tanks). Both are classified by the FDEP to be of low concern. FKAA’s injection well, used for its removal of concentrate from your RO water treatment plant, is housed in steel to 2, 674 feet, passing through multiple clay-based layers that act as confining units. The contaminant is chloride from the Floridan Aquifer. Petroleum storage containers on the property in FKAA’s WTP are the State of Fl registered tanks without a history of reported splatters or compliance issues. The Source Water Evaluation report for our bodies is available at the FDEP Source Water Evaluation and Protection System website at www.dep.state.fl.us/ swapp..

FKAA - Florida Keys RO Plants Drinking Water Company and CDCWater Source The water supply for Harris County Fresh Water Supply District 61 is Deep Wells. Water is pumped from aquifers to the Water Treatment Plant. For greater facts please contact: 281) 469.9405 How does Harris County Fresh Water District # sixty-one deal with the consuming water? The Water District makes use of conventional water treatment procedure that consists of disinfection. Chlorine is brought to the water to kill harmful microorganisms. All chemicals used are regulated and authorized to be used in consuming water. Why does my water appear cloudy or milky at times? Cloudy water is often due to dissolved oxygen being released from the water. Coldwater can maintain more oxygen than warm water. Water saturated with oxygen will launch oxygen because it warms or as the pressure is released. This release makes water seem milky or cloudy, but it does no longer affect the protection of the water. The cloudiness normally will disappear in approximately 30 seconds. Why does my water once in a while appearance brown or red? Often your water is discolored because of pipeline breaks and repairs. The coloration comes from iron or mineral deposits within the pipe that will become dislodged during the upkeep. If the color is because of line breaks, run the faucet till the water is clear. If the water does no longer clear inside several minutes, call the Water District (281) 469.9405 for help. What is the white build-up on my tap strainers? The white build-up is calcium carbonate. Does Harris County Fresh Water Supply District # 61 fluoridate the water? No. The District does no longer upload fluoride, even though there may be fluoride occurring in our ingesting water. For records please talk to our Consumer Confidence Report. How do you already know the water is safe to drink? The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires water remedy vegetation to continuously monitor the turbidity of the water and the chlorine residual at the plant. Chlorine samples are taken on a recurring foundation and analyzed. Besides, samples are also taken each month at specific places in the course of the District and analyzed for total coliform bacteria. These kinds of microorganisms are present inside the environment and are used as a trademark that other probably harmful microorganisms may be a gift. Should the District stumble on a coliform bacteria during routine samples, massive flushing, and disinfection techniques are executed and extra samples are taken and analyzed to ensure that no microorganism exists within the distribution system. When the samples are clean, the distribution system is placed lower back into regular operation..
