The City of Troy Public Water Program (PWS) is very happy to present the following are accountable to you and provide information on the standard of Troy’s drinking water. Included within this report is usually general health information, water quality testing outcomes performed between January 1 and Dec 31, 2017, how you can participate in decisions regarding your drinking water, and water system connections. We have a current, unconditioned license to operate the public water program. The cost of our 2017 State of Kansas Public Water Program License was $12, 863. 24 depending on our 11, 089 service connections. The town of Troy water source is the Wonderful Miami Buried Area Aquifer (GMBVA). This is an enormous water-bearing fine sand and gravel development associated with the Great Miami River. The GMBVA extends from north of Troy towards the Ohio River, which ranges from 30 to three hundred feet in depth and from 1 to three miles wide. This kind of aquifer is replenished by underground resources, precipitation, and ocean bed filtration. Troy utilizes 10 production water wells to pump water out of this aquifer for treatment in the water plant. These types of wells are next to the Great Miami Water and are located in the Miami Shores Course and the Troy City and County Park. Well, drinking water is pumped towards the Water Treatment Herb (WTP) where it is softened, clarified, disinfected, stabilized, and strained before being driven to our water customers. In 2017, our finish drinking water averaged 120 parts per million (ppm) hardness and sixty-four ppm of alkalinity, with an average ph level of 8. seventy-seven. In 2017 the treatment facility provided around 1. 301 billion dollars gallons of cured drinking water to customers in Troy, Miami County, West Milton, and Ludlow Comes. Our treated drinking water quality meets or exceeds all the standards that are established by the State of Ohio and the USA Environmental Protection Agency.
