This past year, your tap water fulfilled all State consuming water health requirements. We are very pleased to report that the system has in no way violated an optimum contaminant level or every other water quality. This past year, we conducted assessments for over 60 (60) contaminants as well as found none of these contaminants at an amount higher than their state allows. For those who have any questions relating to this report or regarding your drinking water, make sure you contact Tim Grogan, Water as well as Sewer Administrator, from 342-1668. We want you to be informed regarding your drinking water. If you wish to learn more, please attend some of our regularly planned Town Board conferences. Dates and occasions of Water Panel meetings are announced in the Town Board conferences. WHERE DOES OUR WATER ORIGINATE FROM? In general, the causes of drinking water (both faucet water and bottled water) consist of rivers, lakes, channels, ponds, reservoirs, comes, and wells. As water travels over the top of land or with the ground, it dissolves normally occurring minerals and may pick up substances caused by the presence associated with animals or through human activities. Contaminants that may be present in supply water include microbial pollutants; inorganic contaminants; pesticides as well as herbicides; organic chemical substance contaminants; and radioactive pollutants. To ensure tap water is safe to consume, the State and also the EPA prescribe rules which limit the number of certain contaminants in water supplied by public water techniques. The State Health Department’s and also the FDA’s regulations set up limits for pollutants in bottled water which must supply the same protection about public health. Upon August 18, 2017, the Forest Acres Pump Home and wells were turned off and disconnected in the water system. The water program was then attached to Consolidated Water District #1 and it is now permanently a part of that district. The info that follows is perfect for the Woodland Miles Water District through January 1, 2017, to August 18, 2017. About August 18, 2017, to December 31, 2017 please refer to the Annual Consuming Water Quality Statement for Consolidated Water Area #1. Your water supply is entirely the groundwater (well) supply comprising two six-inch wells approximately a hundred and eighty feet deep. Throughout 2017, all of the water how the Town supplied for you came from underneath the ground and is called groundwater. Throughout 2017, the water was pumped in the wells to the pressure tank, which also serves like a chlorine contact container. Chlorine is injected into the raw water to supply disinfection. The Forest Acres Water Program has approximately thirty-eight (38) cable connections, and services approximately a hundred forty-four individuals. An average amount of approximately 5, 450 gallons daily was withdrawn in the wells and around 5, 450 gallons daily were delivered towards the customers served through the Woodland Acres Water Area. In 2017, the actual annual charge concerning water was $2. 50 for every thousand gallons..
