The Suwannee Aquifer is situated approximately 700 to 900 feet under the surface of Sanibel and Captiva Island destinations. This is the raw drinking water source that is used to create the drinking water intended for island residents. The raw water resource contains many nutrients. It is brackish drinking water that has a moderate sodium content. The salt content material of the raw drinking water is the primary cause that Reverse Osmosis (R. O. ) is used as IWA’s treatment technology. The style on the left shows the R. O. teaches that remove not merely the salt, but many additional minerals as well and everything finished water is usually chlorinated for disinfection purposes. The plant allowed capacity is currently in 5. 99 MGD. The Island Water Relationship Inc. routinely screens for contaminants within your drinking water according to federal and state laws. The next table shows the results of our monitoring for the period of January 1st to December 31st, 2017 Monitoring results just before this period are also shown in the table. Because the water travels within the land or subway it can pick up chemicals such as microbes, inorganic and organic chemical substances, and radioactive chemicals. All drinking water, which includes bottled drinking water, might be reasonably expected to consist of at least a small amount of some pollutants. It is important to remember the presence of these pollutants does not necessarily show that the water positions a health risk. Data obtained before January 1, 2017, and presented this kind of report are from your most recent screening done by all the laws, rules and regulations. More info about contaminants and potential health results can be obtained by getting in touch with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline in (1-800-426-4791). Business lead levels at your home might be higher than at additional homes in the community due to materials used in the home’s plumbing. In case you are concerned about elevated business lead levels in your home’s water, you may want your water examined and flush the tap for half a minute to 2 moments before using the drinking water. Additional information is available from your Safe Drinking Water Hotline in (1-800-426- 4791). Radon We constantly keep an eye on the water supply intended for various constituents. We now have detected Radon inside the finished water supply found in 2 out of two samples tested in 2017. There is no federal government regulation for Radon in drinking water. Contact with air transmitted Radon over a long time may cause adverse wellness effects. Sources and Types of Pollutants in Source Drinking water The sources of water (both tap water and bottled water) consist of rivers, lakes, channels, ponds, reservoirs, suspension springs, and wells. While water travels within the surface of the property or through the floor, it dissolves natural minerals and, in some instances, radioactive material, and may pick up substances caused by the presence of animals or perhaps from human activity. Pollutants that may be present in resource water include Microbes contaminants, such as infections and bacteria, which might come from sewage treatment plants, septic devices, agricultural livestock procedures, and wildlife. Inorganic contaminants, such as debris and metals, which may be naturally occurring or derive from urban storm drinking water runoff, industrial or perhaps domestic wastewater secretions, oil and gas production, exploration, or farming. & nitrogen-laden herbicides, which may originate from a variety of sources including agriculture, urban surprise water runoff, and residential uses. Organic and natural chemical contaminants, which include synthetic and risky organic chemicals, that are by-products of industrial procedures and petroleum creation, and can, also, originate from gas stations, urban surprise water runoff, and septic systems. Radioactive contaminants, which can be natural or be the consequence of oil and gas production and mining activities. In 2017 the Division of Environmental Safety performed a Resource Water Assessment upon our system and research online of the data resources indicated four probable sources that have low susceptibility levels of contaminants near our water wells. The assessment answers are available on the FDEP Source Water Evaluation and Protection Plan website at https://fldep.dep.state.fl.us/swapp/DisplayPWS.asp?pws id=5360146 Stage you & 2 Disinfectant/Disinfection By-Produ.
