The thirty-five lakes included in this research area all have improved public gain access to and are located inside or adjacent to Winter season Haven’s city limitations or share an association with a lake that may be. These lakes had been categorized into 3 groups: the North Chain comprised of ponds Conine, Fannie, Animosités, Hamilton, Little Stalinsky, Middle Hamilton, Rochelle, and Smart; the Southern Chain composed of lakes Cannon, Eloise, Hartridge, Howard, Idylwild, Jessie, Lulu, Might, Mirror, Roy, Shipp, Spring, Summit, and Winterset; and the Room lakes comprised of ponds Blue, Buckeye, Deer, Elbert, Idyl, Hyperlink, Mariam, Mariana, Martha, Maude, Otis, Pansy, and Silver. Pond Henry was not one of the study due to a reduction in accessibility which has led to a lack of valid drinking water quality data. Winter season Haven’s lakes will be part of the Peace Creek sub-basin of the Serenity River watershed. Determine 1-1 details the lakes in the research area as well as the circulation pathways through the watershed. The lakes form the Southern Chain will be maintained at a roughly equalized level, but collectively to use a higher elevation compared to the Northern Chain. A lock structure, managed and maintained by Lakes Region Ponds Management District, links CITY OF WINTER DESTINATION NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT 3 OF fifty-four 2017 Annual Ponds Report Lake Hartridge to Lake Conine and regulates circulation from the Southern String to the Northern String. Lakes Conine, Animosités, Rochelle, and Wise operate at an equalized level and circulation downstream to ponds Fannie and Stalinsky chain and eventually drain via the Serenity Creek Drainage Canal-a major outfall around the south side of Lake Hamilton. The Southern Chain mainly drains to the North Chain, but may also flow out of the major outfall around the south side of Lake Lulu with the Wahneta Farms Draining Canal when surface area level rises to minimum flood level (132 ft NGVD). Several of the Interior Ponds share connections with Winter Haven’s String of Lakes through drainage ditches or perhaps pipes. However, these types of flow-ways typically just convey water during periods of higher than average surface level..
