How To Test My Well Pump Flow Rate

    Water treatment equipment, such as an iron filter or pH neutralizer, require a minimum amount of water flow from your well pump to correctly backwash.

    To properly size your water treatment equipment, we need to know the effective flow rate of your well pump (GPM or gallons per minute)… and this is easy to get.

    >>>> Get your Flow Rate:

      1. Close off all faucets and make sure there is no running water. 🚱

      2. Place a 5 gallon bucket by a hose bib (spigot) near your well pump.

      3. Fully open the water hose bib until the well pump starts.

      4. Then, start filling up your 5 gallon bucket, and time how many seconds it takes to fill it up. 🕐
