This season, as in many years past, your faucet water met just about all USEPA and condition drinking water wellness standards. Our program vigilantly safeguards its water supply, and we could report that the actual department had no violation of the contaminant level or every other water quality standard in the earlier year. This report summarizes the caliber of water that we provided this past year, including details regarding where your water originates from, what it consists of, and how it even compares to standards set through regulatory agencies. We are committed to offering you information because knowledgeable customers are the best allies. For those who have any questions relating to this report or regarding your water program, please contact Paul Ward at (708) 229-3361. We would like our valued customers to become informed about their water quality. If you'd like, please feel welcome to go to any of the regularly scheduled town board meetings about the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are held within the council chambers, about the second floor over the village corridor, at 9418 Southern Kedzie Avenue from 7: 30 PM HOURS. Our village utilizes surface water through Lake Michigan that's purchased from the town of Chicago. Chicago provides all treatment from the water except for additional chlorine being added through the Village for disinfection. All of us receive our water through Chicago, which is sent by water mains to three underground storage tanks having a total capacity associated with 4 million gallons. Additionally, the Village offers three emergency connections towards the City of Chicago located through Evergreen Park. Lake Michigan may be the sole source of water accustomed to provide drinking water about Chicago and around 125 suburban towns. The Environmental Safety Agency (EPA) offers found that the caliber of Lake Michigan offers improved dramatically in the last 20 years. River Michigan, by quantity, is the 2nd largest Great Lake and alone located totally within America. It serves as a source of consuming water, as a location for swimming as well as fishing, as the scenic wonderland, so that as a sink about municipal and commercial waste and runoff in the surrounding lands.
