DESCRIPTION
Know what’s in your water. Prove your RO is doing its job.
The Pocket Pal TDS Meter is a small handheld digital tester. It reads the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in your water, so you can check your tap and confirm your RO system is working.
- Quick, simple readings
- Fits in a drawer, a pocket or under the sink
- 0-50 ppm is the ideal range for drinking water
- Most homes have hundreds of ppm in their tap water
Heads up: a TDS meter doesn’t detect specific contaminants or tell you if water is safe. For that, you need a water test kit.
HOW TO USE
Dip. Read. Know.
- Fill a clean glass with your water sample.
- Turn on the meter and dip it in.
- Read the ppm on the screen.
To test your RO, compare your tap water to the RO water. A big drop means it’s working. Aim for 0-50 ppm.
HOW DOES IT WORK
It reads what’s dissolved in your water, so you don’t have to guess.
TDS includes minerals, salts, metals, nitrates, chlorides and sulfates. They come from natural sources, runoff, aging pipes and treatment chemicals.
The meter turns that into a single ppm number. A low number means less dissolved stuff in your glass.

Check Water And RO Filtration Systems
The Total Dissolved Solids Tester, or TDS Meter, will properly check your water and reverse osmosis filtration system.
What's a TDS Meter?
A TDS meter is a small, hand-held digital device that measures the Total Dissolved Solids in water via electrical conductivity. It does not measure water hardness directly, and it does not measure contaminants or tell you whether your water is safe to drink — TDS is a broader measurement than hardness alone, and a low or high TDS reading doesn't by itself confirm or rule out a specific problem like hardness, contamination, or safety.
If you're considering water filtration, you'll want an actual water test kit. A proper test kit report explains exactly what's in your water — the specific contaminants worth addressing — so you can choose the right filtration solution for your actual goals.

The Full Explainer, Plus What's Actually In Your Water
A TDS meter is a small, hand-held digital device that measures the Total Dissolved Solids in water via conductivity. It does not measure water hardness directly, and it does not measure contaminants or confirm whether your water is safe.
Whether or not you're considering water filtration, you should get a test kit. Having your water tested with a proper test kit will give you a report that explains exactly what's in your water — the specific contaminants causing concern — so you can find the right filtration solution to meet your actual water goals.
Your standard tap water contains numerous dissolved solids — most homes have hundreds of TDS lurking in their drinking water.
What are Total Dissolved Solids?
- Inorganic salts, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals & cations
- Metals, nitrates, chlorides, sulfates, carbonates
- Contaminants, impurities, and toxins
Sources of Dissolved Solids Include:
- Natural sources — rivers, lakes
- Storm water runoff
- Agriculture runoff
- Sewage
- Urban runoff
- Plumbing/pipe residue
- Industrial waste
- Chemical treatment
- Road water runoff / deicing salt, etc.
