Source Drinking water Assessment What are Drinking water Quality Standards? Found in 2017 the Fl Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) performed a Source Drinking water Assessment of our program. The assessment was first conducted to provide details about any potential causes of contamination in the vicinity of the wells. Potential causes of contamination are all those facilities, sites, and activities that have them to affect the fundamental groundwater water supplies or nearby surface area waters used for general public drinking water supply. A number of these potential sources will be regulated by FDEP and the location and status of these sites are maintained inside FDEP databases. Through the use of in-house databases and a geographical info system (GIS), FDEP can access and illustrate the associations of potential poison sources to the general public water supply intakes in Florida. Many of these services are regulated and operate under strict construction and repair requirements designed to safeguard both human health insurance and the environment. The purpose of performing the source water tests is to provide info that will lead to actions to reduce current dangers or avoid long term problems. There are one particular potential source of contaminants identified for this program with a low susceptibility level. The evaluation results are available on the FDEP Source Drinking water Assessment and Safety Program website at www.fldep.dep.state.fl.us/swapp/ or they could be obtained from Ted Petrides, Director of Herb Operations at (954) 888-6000. Our water standards, established by USEPA and the Florida Division of Environmental Safety (FDEP) set limitations for substances that may affect consumer wellness or aesthetic characteristics of drinking water. The chart in this statement shows the following types of water top quality standards: Maximum Poison Level (MCL): The greatest level of a poison that is allowed found in drinking water. MCLs will be set as near to the Maximum Contaminant Level Goals (MCLG) as possible using the best obtainable treatment technology. Optimum Residual Disinfectant Level (MRDL): The highest degree of a disinfectant allowed in drinking water. There is certainly convincing evidence that the addition of a medical disinfectant is necessary for power over microbial contaminants. Main Drinking Water Standard: MCLs for contaminants that affect health with their monitoring and confirming. Action Level (AL): The concentration of the contaminant, which, if exceeded, triggers treatment or other requirements that a water program must follow. Locational Operating Annual Average (LRAA): the average of test analytical results intended for samples taken in a particular monitoring area during the previous 4 calendar quarters..
