The Onondaga County Drinking water Authority is very happy to provide its clients and consumers with all the Authority’s Annual Hydrant Statement and Customer Confidence Report intended for the year ending Dec 31, 2017. Through this report, visitors will find useful info specifically related to OCWA, as well as information associated with water in general. Additionally, to mailing a notice to all clients of record launching the availability of the statement, the Authority proceeds its practice of providing copies from the report to local your local library. OCWA also promotes the availability of the statement in local printing media. While each year is typically filled with a lot of activity, 2017 was first an exceptional year because of the consolidation of Onondaga County's Metropolitan Drinking water Board (MWB) Pond Ontario system into the Onondaga County Drinking water Authority operations. Immediately, on January you, 2017, OCWA added 31 new workers and assumed complete operation and repair responsibility for the system's 60 mil gallon per day Pond Ontario water treatment plant and related facilities that provide drinking water for more than 50% of OCWA's customers. Additional facilities included in the conversion include 124 kilometers of 24-inch to 60-inch transmission primary; seven distribution program pumping stations; and thirteen water storage space tanks with a mixed capacity of 117. 25 million gallons. OCWA also thought oversight of the MWB's CARE project, a power performance contract which involves the replacement of the main pumps and power generators in use at the Pond Ontario raw intake of water pumping facility, the Lake Ontario obvious water pumping train station (located at the Pond Ontario water treatment plant campus), as well as the Eastern Reservoir moving station located in Manlius.
