- Replace the media in 6 to 10 years, or after 600,000 to 1M gallons under typical use.
Pairs well with a SoftPro softener. Need help? Call our experts at 1-866-278-4130.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Water flows up. Contaminants get stuck.
Water enters from the bottom and pushes the catalytic carbon media upward. The media circulates, so more of it touches your water. That gives it a better chance to catch contaminants.
Catalytic carbon also handles chloramines, which regular activated carbon struggles with. The result is cleaner water at high flow.

Chlorine & Chloramine... Not In My Water!
More water companies keep increasing chloramine use as a disinfectant — and even within EPA and CDC limits, there are real effects to know about:
- Respiratory problems and increased asthma risk from chloramine vapors
- Aggravated digestive disorders
- Increased pneumonia and other influenza-related death risk
- Decreased red blood cell efficiency
- Dry, itchy, flaking skin and dandruff
The SoftPro Whole House Chlorine+ Filter removes chlorine AND chloramines.
Stop Drinking Pool Water!
Many Americans are drinking 300 to 600 times above the EPA's chlorine health guidelines. It helps kill microbes — but at high levels, it's a real health concern:
- Forms Trihalomethanes (THMs) — linked to cancer and other issues
- Eye and nose irritation
- Stomach and gut discomfort
- Dry, itchy, flaking skin and dandruff
The SoftPro Whole House Chlorine+ Filter removes both chlorine and chloramines — you don't need two separate systems.
Built To Last, Not To Need Constant Attention
Rated for 600,000 to 1,000,000 gallons of filtered water, or 6-10 years of typical household use before the media needs replacing — genuinely low-maintenance for a system doing this much work.
Not All Carbon Media Is Built The Same
Standard activated carbon handles chlorine and basic taste/odor issues reasonably well. Catalytic carbon goes further — engineered specifically to break down chloramines, which standard activated carbon struggles with, while maintaining strong performance on chlorine, VOCs, and other organic contaminants.
More Effective Filtration, Genuinely Better Flow
Upflow design pushes water up through the media bed rather than down, using the full bed more evenly and reducing channeling — meaning better contact time with the filter media and stronger, more consistent filtration at higher flow rates than older downflow designs.
